back to the news
This week, it has been a great joy to celebrate ten years serving at St Bart’s.
When we arrived in Toowoomba in 2013 (with our eldest, Amelia, who was just 18 months old!), we had little idea of what lay ahead—of blessings too innumerable to count: of loving welcome and support from our brothers and sisters in Christ, witnessing extraordinary Gospel fruit, an expanding building, being spurred on by the faithful, delighting in those coming to (or back to) Jesus, seeing Gospel workers raised up (and some sent), people’s gentleness and grace towards a very imperfect minister, and being daily inspired by those growing in maturity and faithfully following Jesus.
There’s been joy, tears, celebration, and challenge—but in all things we give thanks for the Lord’s faithfulness, including that through his people. We’ve grieved with those who grieve, rejoiced with those rejoicing, and sought to be steadfast alongside those in the more ordinary of times, too!
Bettrys and I also feel privileged to see our kids (two of whom are real locals!) being loved and nurtured as disciples in this community. Thank you!
Most of all, we remain thankful to the Lord—for his grace poured out in Jesus, for the empowering gift of his Spirit, and his mission—to make and mature disciples of Jesus—that he continues to entrust to us as his people.
