It is with great thanks to God that Justin Lai has been appointed to the role of full-time (Lay) Assistant Minister at St Bart’s, commencing on January 27 in Toowoomba. Justin and his wife, Jacqueline, are planning to settle in Toowoomba (from Brisbane), some time in December and are very much looking forward to getting to know, being part of, and also serving this community. Justin and Jacqueline have been members of St Philip’s Anglican in Rochedale for around ten years, also serving generously in a Chinese Church Plant which became St Phil’s Anglican Mandarin ministry in 2023. Justin is currently in the final stages of completing his Bachelor of Theology (at QTC), having previously studied engineering and financial planning— working in the finance sector for seven years. God-willing, next year Justin will enter into the first stage of a longer process towards ordination. Jacqueline is also wonderfully gifted by God, with a heart for youth, young people, and music. I’m so thankful to God for them both and can’t wait for you to get to meet them.

Please join with me in giving great thanks to God for this appointment and pray for Justin and Jacqueline as they prepare to move, settle in, and take their part here in the building up of God’s church. Pray also that God will prepare us to welcome them as we seek to make, mature, and multiply disciples of Jesus for God’s glory. I am so thankful for the faithful prayers of so many, especially in the raising up of Gospel workers.
