It was a great joy on Friday night to celebrate another year in CHARGE Youth, those who have generously supported this ministry, and the leaders who serve faithfully. There was no shortage of dessert (thank you to all who contributed!) and encouraging testimonies from the youth and leaders. As junior and senior youth were interviewed, we heard how God has been marvellously at work drawing these young people to himself, growing them in faith (and witness!), providing opportunities for them to take their part in the building up of his church, and increasing the number of youth exploring faith. When youth were asked which part of CHARGE was their favourite, almost every aspect was covered! It included all of the various elements of Fridays (small groups, worship time, meals, and fun together), Sundays (discussion time connecting with the sermon), YOUTH Camp at Coolum, and also the inaugural mission trip to Lightning Ridge. Youth not only appreciate the genuine care of their leaders, but also that CHARGE on Fridays is an encouraging space after a week of school to focus on God, get to be curious, and ask lots of questions. One of the prayer points that they shared was that God would grow their confidence to share their faith! As one of the leaders shared that it was Christ's love that compelled them to serve, another asked to pray that our youth will grow in their understanding of God's call on their lives and also how that works through their serving in the life of the church.
