Parents are the primary disciple-makers in a child’s life, and so we are always looking for ways to equip and support parents in discipling their children and teenagers. There are a couple of resources, courses, and books you might find helpful:
Information on Baptism, Confirmation & Dedication. If you're interested in finding out more about baptism, confirmation, or dedication (and what it looks like in the Anglican Church), download and read this is a helpful guide: https://www.stbarts.com.au/resource-training-centre/baptism-resources
Book: “5 Things to Pray for Your Kids”. This is a really easy to use book, which provides a guide for simple, biblical prayers to pray for your children. St Bart’s Kids has discounted copies for $5 each, as we think every family will find this helpful. You can also subscribe to St Bart’s Kids Facebook or Instagram, where we will be sharing a prayer prompt each weekday.
Resource: Lord’s Prayer Magnet Set. This is designed by St Bart’s Kids to help your family learn and be reminded of the Lord's Prayer. Each set includes 10 round magnets, a print out of the Lord's Prayer, and some suggestions on how to use them. This could also be a great gift for grandchildren! Order a set online ($20 each).
Course: Parenting Teenagers Course. Starting this week on Wednesday at 7pm (in-person), this 5-week course is for parents, step-parents, prospective parents or carers of teenagers aged 11-18 years. The topics covered include: keeping the long term aid in mind, meeting your teenager’s need, setting clear boundaries, developing emotional health, and helping them make good choices. Register online or on a clipboard. We’d love to see you there! https://www.stbarts.com.au/events/parenting-teenagers-course-2025
