Prayer Points for  Chappy Phil Bryce, serving at Gabbinbar State  School

Gabbinbar SS Chaplaincy Service:

1) Praise God for the opportunity Chappy Phil has, to serve Him at Gabbinbar SS. Pray that the chaplaincy service will continue in the state school system and find much favour.

2) Pray that Phil will be able to apply early intervention, emotional support or pastoral care with skill and wisdom in responding to the increase in the requests from school administration to assist students with complex needs.

3) Pray for Phil in his practice of early morning walk-throughs to chat with staff. This practice is beginning to bear fruit as he then often engages staff in deeper conversations. It is a privilege to be establishing relationships and trust with staff. Please pray that he will approach staff with compassion, being sensitive to the Holy Spirit's guidance. Give thanks that Christian staff are asking for prayer.

4) The Chappy Room continues to be open during lunch breaks and this remains a general expectation of school administration. A reasonable number of students are regularly attending the Chappy Room. Please pray that the Chappy Room will be a safe haven for students, a place of connection, conversations and fun. Please pray that Phil will be able to add new resources to the Chappy Room to keep students coming, engaged and interested.      

5)  Chappy Week is from June 1st - 8th. Chappy Week presents an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the school's chaplaincy service and to do some in-school fundraising. Two in-school fundraisers have been approved. A Free Dress Day and a penny skateboard raffle. Pray for the success of these promotions.

6) The Frontline Dinner on June 9th concludes Chappy Week, with all supporters from churches invited to attend. Pray that the dinner will be a success.

7) Please pray that Phil will be in step with God, to be available and flexible to the needs of the school.
