Welcome to Hong, our Korean Ministry Coordinator

September 10, 2023

It was a great joy today to welcome and commission (at 9.30AM) Hong Suk Lee as our Korean Ministry Coordinator. This appointment is part of our continuing implementation of VISION 2025, particularly focusing on the mission goal of extending our reach with diverse cultures. Whilst based in Brisbane, Hong will be with us on Sundays and (usually) Mondays. Hong has experience with a number of churches of various denominations (e.g., Uniting and Presbyterian), has studied theology (both at Flinders and QTC), and also has a passion for working with, enabling, and supporting those with disabilities.

In addition to helping lead the implementation of our mission priority to extend our ethnic reach, Hong will assist with the ongoing work of translation, nurturing multilingual elements of our Sunday services, care especially for those with a Korean background, and pursue opportunities for greater cultural representation in our life together.

Please join with me in giving great thanks to God for Hong. along with his family: his wife, May (Seihee), and twin children, Jeremy (Hamin) and Delight (Hasom). Please pray that they will feel welcome and at home at St Bart’s as we share in life and mission together.

Please also pray for the ongoing implementation of VISION 2025, especially as our working groups begin meeting from this week.
