First Peter is an amazing circular letter sent to various churches in early Christianity (in what is the modern-day Turkey region). Peter reminds us that as followers of Jesus, our hope is living because it is anchored to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. With such an amazing hope, Peter goes on to challenge us on what it means to follow Jesus in a range of context, including suffering, as a people set apart by God and for God's purposes.
