FOCUS Weekend Away is an opportunity for all ages to head away to Coolum to focus on God, our community, and the beach! Across the weekend there is plenty of time to relax, meet some new people, and grow as disciples. It is an exciting opportunity to gather with people from every congregation and every location!
Stephen has pastored and planted churches in Australia since the early 1990s, and has a heart for seeing God’s people flourish faithfully and courageously in the modern West. He is a cultural commentator, author, and public theologian who works alongside Christian organisations as they navigate the changes and pressures of modern, secular society. Stephen is married to Jill, a clinical psychologist, who has partnered with him in ministry in the 30 years they have been married. They have two adult children.
When God saves people, he gathers them together. Together to himself. And together with each other. It’s both a vertical and a horizontal togetherness. The story of the Bible is about God redeeming his creation by gathering together a people who have been scattered, but gathering them now for a purpose – to become those who show the world what it looks like to gather together around God in worship, and to gather together with each other in genuine community. Together is God’s eternal plan.
Includes accommodation both nights at the beach, and all meals from Saturday breakfast to Sunday lunch.
