In this introduction to the biblical prophets, Andy Abernethy reveals the Book of Isaiah’s breadth and relevance for us today. Learn to understand different types of Bible literature, read prophecy in its historical context, see how Isaiah fits into the big story of God’s saving plan, and use the whole Book of Isaiah in ministry contexts.
Dr Andy Abernethy is an Assistant Professor of Old Testament at Wheaton College (USA). His PhD was on Isaiah, and he has edited several compendiums as well as working on two books: Eating in Isaiah:Approaching Food & Drink in Isaiah's Structure and Message, and Message and Your Kingdom Come in Isaiah: A Theological-Thematic Approach to the Book of Isaiah.
The evening starts at 7pm and consists of a 20 minute lecture, a short time of small group discussion, a short break, and then another lecture before some time for discussion. The cost for the 6 weeks is $10 in total. Join either in-person in Toowoomba or online from anywhere!
