Throughout the Bible, we witness God regularly calling his people to celebrate: with song, in praise, with food, at festivals, and by remembering. For Christians, celebration not only centres on God (who he is and what he has done) but is one of the key ways to be a people of thanksgiving to God. As leaders, we have a key role in not only helping our teams to celebrate God, but also to celebrate how he is at work through his people. We do have so much to give thanks for. In this module we explore WHY we celebrate together, HOW to celebrate together, and developing a PLAN to celebrate together.

Module Overview

Throughout the Bible, we witness God regularly calling his people to celebrate: with song, in praise, with food, at festivals, and by remembering. For Christians, celebration not only centres on God (who he is and what he has done) but is one of the key ways to be a people of thanksgiving to God. As leaders, we have a key role in not only helping our teams to celebrate God, but also to celebrate how he is at work through his people. We do have so much to give thanks for. In this module we explore WHY we celebrate together, HOW to celebrate together, and developing a PLAN to celebrate together.

Core Components in this Module

  1. Prework: (a): As a follower of Jesus, what are you most thankful for as you look back over the last 12 months?; (b) As a team leader, what one thing are you most thankful to God for this year? (Try to think specifically in the ministry area that you lead.)
  2. Workshop: The workshop focuses on: (a) WHY we Celebrate Together; (b) HOW to Celebrate Together; (c) PLAN to Celebrate Together.
  3. Homework: Individual: Schedule (where possible) the celebrations you have committed to. Team: Discuss celebration opportunities with your team. It would be good to establish some regular rhythms for you to celebrate together.
